While at my mom’s house this week, I stumbled across some of my very first press clippings — including my very first television mention ever in The Grafton News! 🖤📺✨
In Spring 2008, I was featured as one of 3 prom dress designers on MTV’s TRL! America voted for their favorite dress design… and I came in dead last 😂💀 Which also meant I was NOT invited to the TRL prom featuring Cobra Starship - Womp womp!!!
I also found the original sketch and some old photos of the dress being modeled by one of my college friends 🖤✨ It was actually the very first prom dress I ever made — and the funniest part? I made it BEFORE the voting results came in, just in case I won 😂 The TRL prom was happening the very next day, so I needed to be prepared!

Somehow, that dress still lives in my studio today — even if she’s looking a little rough after almost 20 years of sparkle survival 💀✨ A heart on the front and, of course… arrows on the back. Honestly? I’ve always been the same designer and the same girl.
