A couple years ago, I found this cake recipe on the internet and immediately knew it had to be my birthday cake when I turned 29. I begged my parents to make it — and they delivered! 💕
Fast forward a couple (ahem 😉) years later, and I requested a revival. This time, my mom and my husband teamed up to bring it back… but with a few very important upgrades.
We added a big, unapologetic scoop of peanut butter 🥜, lots of flaky salt for that sweet-salty magic ✨, and a generous handful (okay, more than a handful) of peanut M&M’s for crunch and color. Because if we’re doing MY birthday cake, we’re doing it right. (plus i'm not a cake + frosting kind of gal!)
The only downside? It’s very tricky to get candles to stand up in all that gooey, crunchy goodness 😂 But honestly, that just makes the birthday wish feel a little more hard-earned!
